From the story:

LAHORE, Pakistan — On that oppressive June day, while picking berries with two young Muslim women, a Christian named Asia Bibi offered to go fetch some water.

"I will not take water from the hands of a Christian,'' one of the woman told her.

From the story:

A decade after 9/11, the fear of terrorist attacks against Christians has somewhat eased. But an insidious threat remains — Pakistan's notorious blasphemy laws.

The laws, the strictest of any such ones in a predominantly Muslim country, ban blasphemy against all recognized religions. In practice, they apply only to blasphemy against Islam.

"As Pakistanis, whatever laws there are we are supposed to honor, but the problem in that law is there is no justice,'' says Azariah. "Muslims are so touchy that even if you say something for the sake of inquiry about religion, then they will consider that blasphemy and attack that person and all of the Christian community. This law is so widely misused.''

According to this law, shouldn't the unnamed woman who began this scandal with Asia Bibi also have been charged???

Sure, she should be charged. But even if she is, she'd only get a slap on the wrist, if anything. Paul said it well: "All who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution." We should cherish our freedom of speech. Not many other countries share the same sentiments.

Good seed, Sis!

One cannot blaspheme a lie.

Blaspheming The Holy Spirit is the one unpardonable sin. By denying Jesus Christ as being The Way to God people blaspheme The Holy Spirit. For The Holy Spirit is The Spirit of God undeniable in God's power and ability to save whom He will in His Son's Sacrifice on the cross for the sin's of alll the world even those who deny Him.

The one sin they will perish for is the non acceptance of Him and His Way, blaspheming the Power of The Holy Spirit of God.

Let all beware that the price for that is not cheap. Hell is not a nice place to be, because God and His mercy are not there. God does not place you there, you choose to go there because you reject Him and His Way. Be careful who you blaspheme.

Good article chefaz.
